Since United Nations Association of Nepal is committedly working for the promotion and protection of child rights according to the UN Convention on Right of Child and is launching its efforts one after another for the elimination of child abuses, it is natural for it to run project or organize activities on different aspect of child rights. UNA of Nepal has been conducting a project entitled 'Promoting Right to Education: Elimination of Child Abuses' for the period of 2013 to 2016. UNA of Nepal concentrates its effort on child's rights to education in order to make them aware of all their rights mentioned in the UN Convention on the Right of Child. Education is itself basic human rights and enables everyone including children to exercise their rights. UNA of Nepal aims, through these projects, at enhancing children's awareness of their own rights and empowers them to exercise their rights and raise voice against violation of their rights.
UNA of Nepal has been organizing, since the beginning of this project, various activities such as talk programs, interactions and workshops involving the participation of young people. The target group of this project is to involve and enhance the participation of the children particularly from the unprivileged, minority, marginalized and the people of poor community. This project has enhanced the awareness of the children about their rights and has made the parents also of their own rights and their children's rights. Since this project is related to child, UNA of Nepal will continue to working for the attainment of the goals of this project through organizing different activities in the day to come.The theme for 2014 would be Educating in the field of Peace and Human Rights : Eliminating the child abuses and establishing the culture of human rights.
